Presse immer in der Hand. — Erfrage bei der Bahn die Abfahrtzeit meines Zuges u. den Tarif für das Gepäck. — Im Park vor dem Bahnhof erblicke ich eine Ratte!! — Nach 4^h gehe ich wieder nach St. Valentino, ein liebes Plätzchen. — Zuvor hatte ich mich nach dem Preis eines interurbanen Telephongespräches erkundigt, gehe aber doch noch einmal zu restante-Schalter: der Brief von Frau Scheidl ist endlich da — „ … alles besetzt, vielleicht im Salon“!! Oder warten in einem Hotel, bis etwas frei wird – nicht sehr erfreulich. —

⇧ Partly cloudy, but warm. — No news from Vienna, In the reading room, someone else always has his hands on the Neue Freie Presse . — At the train station, I inquire about the departure time of my train and the cost of sending the luggage. — In the park in front of the train station, I espy a rat!! — After 4 o’clock, I go back to St. Valentino, a nice little place. — I had previously inquired about the price of an intercity telephone call, but I go once more to the poste restante counter; the letter from Mrs. Scheidl has finally arrived: — “… everything taken, perhaps [you can stay] in the salon”?? Or wait in a hotel until something becomes available – not very encouraging. —
