Documents associated with this person:

Important collector of autograph manuscripts, and industrialist, living in Dessau, Germany.

Carl Meinert possessed several Beethoven autographs (today in the Beethovenhaus, Bonn), e.g. Op. 27/2 (the "Moonlight" Sonata, of which Schenker published a facsimile in 1921), and Op. 101 (of which Schenker produced an edition with elucidations in 1920), and also autographs of Schubert's Schwanengesang and Winterreise.

No correspondence between Carl Meinert and Schenker is known to survive, but Meinert is several times mentioned in Schenker correspondence (e. g. WSLB 191.579, June 25, 1913, to Otto Erich Deutsch; WSLB 210, May 2, 1914, to Emil Hertzka; OC B/176, November 18, 1913, from Alfred Kopfermann to Schenker).

Two letters from Max Meinert, Carl Meinert's brother and heir, to Schenker do, however, survive.
