Ich frage [?also] nur aus Vorsicht. ‒ Ist Ihnen inzwischen auch die angenehme Besprechung meines Bd. I in Dr. Frimmels ‚Beethoven-Jahrbuch’ II bei G. I am asking only out of prudence. ‒ One other thing: have you in the meanwhile become acquainted with the pleasing review of my volume I in Dr. Frimmel's Beethoven-Jahrbuch, vol. 2, published by G. Footnotes1 In WSLB 37 to Universal Edition, Schenker states on March 28 "[...] at the moment (despite the fact that printing began on October 1) I am only just on p. 150 of the Counterpoint volume ‒ at the imprimatur stage [...]"; and in WSLB 38, April 2, he declares "It is very much in my own interests to publish volume II as soon as possible." 2 Beethovenjahrbuch, ed. T. von Frimmel (Munich & Leipzig, 1908-09), 2 vols only. There appears to be no clipping of this review in Schenker's scrapbook. |
