Wohlgeboren Herrn Prof. Dr. Heinrich Schenker zzt. Paneveggio (Südtirol) Dolomitenhotel "Paneveggio" Sehr verehrter Herr Doktor! Gestern von einer achttägigen Geschäftsreise aus Deutschland zurückgekehrt, finde ich Ihre gesch. letzten Zuschriften vor. 1 Ich habe sowohl die Absendung der "Chromatischen Fantasie" an Ihre w/. Adresse, als auch die der Beethoven-Monographie an die Adresse des Herrn Prof. Ernst Rudorff veranlasst. Der gesamte weitere Inhalt Ihrer Briefe, in Punkto Beethoven-Sonaten, 2 etc. wird anfangs nächster Woche von mir ausführliche Erledigung finden. Ich bin von der Reise so übermüdet und habe hier so kolossal viel zu tun, dass Sie mir die neuerliche kleine Verzögerung nicht verübeln dürfen. © Transcription Ian Bent, 2007, 2023 |

Leipzig [/] Sternwartestrasse 1520 Vienna [/] I, Wipplingerstrasse 32 [etc.] ⇧ R ⇧ Vienna, ⇧ July 13, 1912 Prof. Heinrich Schenker, Esq. currently at: Paneveggio (South Tyrol) Dolomite Hotel "Paneveggio" Much revered Dr. [Schenker], Having returned yesterday from Germany after an eight-day business trip, I find your esteemed latest missives. 1 I have arranged for the Chromatic Fantasy [ & Fugue ] to be dispatched to your address as well as the Beethoven monograph to the address of Professor Ernst Rudorff. The remainder of the contents of your letters, as concerns the Beethoven Sonatas, 2 etc., will all be dealt with by me in full at the beginning of next week. So exhausted am I by the travel, and so colossally much have I to do here, that you should not be annoyed at me for this latest minor delay. © Translation Ian Bent, 2007, 2023 |
