Only today did I read your Foreword carefully. In the third-to-last paragraph, sixth line from the bottom, there is “uuten”. ² If you want to retain the date of August 30, then it would be advisable to have a look at the new critical edition of Chopin published by Oxford University Press, ³ which Hoboken received on subscription two weeks ago. It appears to us to be very good, on the basis of proof copies with corrections in Chopin’s hand, which a pupil of his owned and which the French editor has acquired. Hoboken will show you the edition, but perhaps it is already necessary for this Foreword. He has taken it with him.
