Hochgeehrter Herr Doctor!

Very dear Dr. [Schenker],

Your letter and loan 1 are really kind. I was hindered, by indisposition and visitors, from thanking you at once. Today as well there is no opportunity for writing a letter. 2

Now I must write in this manner or ill-manner to request that you advocate a little for my Beethoven lecture series. Your pupils may enjoy a significant reduction in tuition (instead of 20 Kronen only 10).

With greetings to you, most gratefully

Footnotes

1 = BNba Frimmel Nachl, [2], March 18, 1905. The loan was of the score of Schenker's arrangement of the C. P. E. Bach keyboard concerto in A minor performed in a recent chamber concert in Vienna: see OJ 11/10, [6], November 10, 1904.

2 Frimmel inserts an em-dash at this point and continues without paragraph-break.
