1 Receipt of this postcard is not recorded in Schenker's diary; but receipt of another and Schenker's reply (not known to survive) are recorded at OJ 4/4, p. 3612, April 28, 1931: Von v.H. durch Boten Absage für Dienstag u. Mittwoch. — An v.H. (K.): Freitag ist Staatsfeiertag, ich erwarte ihn erst Dienstag." ("From Hoboken, by messenger: cancellation for Tuesday and Wednesday. — To Hoboken (postcard): Friday is a national holiday; I shall not expect him until [the following] Tuesday. — The "national holiday" in question was International Labor Day, May 1.").
