¹ This payment is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/6, p. 2629 (February 1, 1924): "Bei Deutsch: zu Rabatt versteht er sich nicht, da eine ehrenwörtliche Verpflichtung besteht, keine zu gewähren – im Falle Benz will er aber die Sache mit Piper ausmachen, ich zahle statt 236000 nur 180000 Kronen. ..." ("At Deutsch's: he does not comprehend the discount, since it is his declaration of honor not to offer one – [but] in the case of Benz he wishes to arrange the thing with Piper, instead of 236,000 I pay only 180,000 kronen. ...").
