1 Receipt of this letter is not directly recorded in Heinrich’s diary, but the entry for April 16, 1924 records: “Vormittags zu Mozio, eben wegen der Valuta; stellt mir Schwarz auf Weiß die Zusicherung aus, für den vollen Wert des heutigen Depots aufzukommen; verzinst die Dollar mit 8%; übergebe ihn 5 Millionen Kronen u. 36 Dollar. ” (“In the morning to Mozio, just concerning the currency; gives me his written assurance in black and white that he will guarantee the full value of today's deposit; gives 8% interest on the dollars; I hand him over 5 million Kronen and 36 dollars.”).

2 Above and below Moriz’s signature, Heinrich has written calculations: “5.600 00 [over] 696076 / dazu ⁒ / u. 36 doll.” (“5.600 00 [over] 696076 / plus ⁒ / and 36 dollars”).
