1 Receipt of this postcard is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/5, p. 3678, November 16, 1931: "Von Hertha Weisse (K. express): kommt Mittwoch." ("From Hertha Weisse (express postcard): she will come on Wednesday.").

2 Jeanette's reply is not known to survive, but its contents are recorded in Schenker's diary on November 12: "An Hertha (Br. Lie-Liechen): bestimmt zwei Tage." ("To Hertha (letter from Lie-Liechen): suggests two days.").

3 The visit is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/5, p. 3678, November 18, 1931: "Frau Hertha Weisse 5–¼8h." ("Mrs. Hertha Weisse, 5 o'clock to 7:15.").

4 Hans Weisse had left for America in September 1931, leaving the rest of his family behind temporarily in Vienna.
