Mein lieber Wilhelm! 1

Anbei das heute mir zugekommene Schreiben des l. Mozio. 2 Wollte Gott, daß ich dir schon – telegraphieren kann: „Geld erhalten“!

Sende mir, bitte, Mozio’s Bf zurück. 3

My dear Wilhelm, 1

Enclosed is the letter that came to me today from Mozio. 2 Would to God that I could already send you a telegram: “Money received”!

Please return Mozio’s letter to me. 3

Amid a rough bit of bad luck, Lisl had so much good luck that she got married eight days ago so that she has a right to Richtera’s pension. [I wonder] whether it will suffice to live on?

Abundant greetings to you both
from us both,

Footnotes

1 Writing of this letter is recorded in Schenker’s diary for May 2, 1930: “An Wilhelm (Br.): schicke den Brief von Mozio” (“To Wilhelm (letter): I send him the letter from Mozio”).

2 Receipt of Mozio’s letter (OJ 14/5, [32]) is recorded in Schenker’s diary entry for May 2; the money due him would arrive in his bank account, and thus “order” between the two brothers would be restored.

3 “Sende … zurück.” (“Please … to me.”): underlined in pencil, probably by Wilhelm.
