die Dame – eine Amerikanerin – wird Ihnen schreiben. Machen Sie mich aber für sie um Gottes Willen nicht verantwortlich u. laßen Sie sicher entsprechend belohnen. Ich reise nach Budapest zu einem Thée-Abend, bin am 7ten zurück u. werde dann ein Zusammensein herbeiführen.

The lady – an American – will write to you. But for God’s sake don’t hold me responsible for her, and make sure you are recompensed correspondingly. I am off to Budapest for a tea evening, and will be back on the 7th and will then arrange a get-together.

The reference to the “Dame” (“lady”) may perhaps relate to a referral from Princess Windisch-Gräz in OJ 9/6, [52], November 27, 1911, hence the tentative proposed editorial dating here. D’Albert’s denial of responsibility suggests that the referral comes from a third party.
