⇧ Postcard [From:] ⇧ Schenker Galtür Tirol [To:] Professor Otto Erich Deutsch Böcklinstraße 26 Vienna II [postmark:] || GALTÜR | 30. VI. 28 | [illeg] || June 30[, 1928] ⇧ Dear Professor (2) (3)! 1 There ought still to be such things as Professor 2, Professor 3, and so on, to distinguish true accomplishments from those that have been scavenged in a newspaperly fashion (Specht, Salten, Bricht, etc.). We send our best congratulations. The first Nobel Prize for music will be awarded to Hindemith or Stravinsky, with Krenek in third place. The prize would already be there, except that the jury is still missing (as always). {verso} [picture: village and mountain, captioned: “GALTÜR – BALLUNSPITZE”]© Translation William Drabkin, 2023 |
