Coffee house designed by the Viennese architect Adolf Loos in 1898 in Art Nouveau style.

Located on the corner of the Friedrichstrasse and Operngasse near the Karlsplatz in Vienna I, it was close to the Sezession building. Within reasonable distance of Schenker's apartment on the Reisnerstraße (1901-21) and only slightly less so that on the Keilgasse (1921-35), in Vienna III, it was a favorite meeting place of Schenker with Moriz Violin and others, frequently mentioned in his diaries.
