Village and resort in the Tyrol, 9 miles (14km) south-southwest of Innsbruck, and 6 miles (10km) northeast of Steinach am Brenner. Fulpmes lies in the Stubai Valley, a side valley that splits off to the southwest from the Wipp Valley at Schönberg im Stubaital. It is the terminus of the narrow-gauge Stubai Valley railway, and is situated beneath the Schlick skiing area, to which it is linked by funicular.

Schenker's patrons, the Eissler family, vacationed in Fulpmes in summer 1907, and Schenker, who was staying in Steinach am Brenner, visited them on July 26, presumably by train changing at Schönberg.
