Footnotes1 Receipt of the proofs notified is recorded in Schenker's diary as at the "end of August," at p. 118: "Korrekturen zur „chrom. Fantasie“ treffen endlich ein." ("At long last, proofs of the Chromatic Fantasy arrive."). Either the entry is incorrectly dated, or a further set of proofs was received at the later date, although Schenker in WSLB 63, August 8, having read and returned the second proofs, does not consider a third set of proofs necessary. |
