1 Receipt of this postcard is recorded in Schenker’s diary for January 28, 1927: “Von Deutsch (K.): ermächtigt mich, das Kuriosum Schubert ohne Namensnennung zu verwenden” (“from Deutsch (postcard): authorises me to use the Schubert curiosity without naming him.”) — This does not precisely reflect Deutsch’s message!.

2 In his postcard OJ 10/3, [52], January 15, Deutsch had remarked that Schubert was paid 500 marks as a music teacher to Prince Esterházy for two summers, and that he (Deutsch) had recently valued two song manuscripts belonging to the Estherházy family at 4,000 marks.
