Dear Master, 1

I have just heard that Bamberger returned here from Tokyo this morning. 2 I shall bring him with me on Friday evening; I hope you do not have anything against this. Likewise, Hertha will also be there. I hope that you and your dear wife are happy about this.

Footnotes

1 Receipt of this postcard is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/4, p. 3551 (December 4, 1930): "Von Weisse (K. expreß): bringt Bamberger, der aus Tokio zurück ist, u. Frau Hertha mit." ("From Weisse (express postcard): he is bringing Bamberger, who has returned from Tokyo, and Hertha along.")

2 The fact that Weisse mentions Bamberger's return from Japan is further evidence that he has misdated the postcard; compare OJ 15/15,[49], a poscard dated November 28, 1930, which indicates that "Bamberger is in Japan."

3 An all-female string quartet, mentioned in OJ 15/15, [49].
