Footnotes1 Dispatch of this item is recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 4/3, p. 3464, April 8, 1930: "An Dr. Rinn (Br.): die Fahnen des Vrieslander-Aufsatzes zurück, – bin sehr zufrieden; der leise Vorbehalt gegen die Urlinie werde bestimmt weichen. Der „Kunstwart“ geht somit beispielgebend voran! Empfehle Deutsch." ("To Dr. Rinn (letter): the galley-proofs for the article by Vrieslander returned, – I am very satisfied; the slight reservation about the Urlinie will definitely give way. Der Kunstwart is leading the way by example! I recommend Deutsch."). 2 Schenker' diary recorded previously at OJ 4/3, p. 3432, January 22, 1930: "Von Vrieslander (Br.): macht einen Aufsatz für Rinn" ("From Vrieslander (letter): he is writing an essay for Rinn"); also February 3: "Von Vrieslander (Br.): über seinen Kunstwart-Aufsatz." ("From Vrieslander (letter): concerning his article for Der Kunstwart."); also March 10: "Von Dr. Rinn (Br.): Vrieslanders Aufsatz sei zu lang, er werde ihn um Kürzung bitten." ("From Dr. Rinn (letter): Vrieslander's article is too long, he will ask him to shorten it."); also April 7: "Von Dr. Rinn: Vrieslander-Fahnen." ("From Dr. Rinn: Vrieslander galley-proofs."). — The article concerned was: Otto Vrieslander, "Heinrich Schenker," Der Kunstwart 43 (1930), 181‒89, copies surviving as OJ 58/21 and OC 52/p. 80, item 3. |
