Young German-born pianist resident in Santiago, Chile, pupil at the Santiago Conservatory, also gymnastics teacher and pupil of a pupil of Dalcroze.

Jeanette Schenker encountered Frl. Herzog while on her summer 1936 voyage to and from Santiago, first when, described as a “rescuing angel, in the shape of a blue-eyed, blond German,” she appeared from nothing and volunteered to translate for her to a faculty member of the Santiago Conservatory (July 29), and facilitated Jeanette’s contact with the Dean of the House of Fine Arts and music theory teacher, Domingo de la Cruz, thereby enabling her to pass on information about Heinrich Schenker’s theoretical works (July 30). Jeanette later watched her instruct a gymnastics class, and was clearly very delighted by her.
