Floriz,

To my dismay, I hear that you were in the [Café] Imperial yesterday at mid-day. What am I to make of that? What's more, you didn't think it worth the trouble to pop over to Café R., 1 to say b where you previously said a. So do I cause you pain when I speak?

I believe that the trio 2 gives evidence of a malleable shaping as none of your earlier things; and for sake of this achievement alone I would advise you to take a break. At any rate, you could surely find time to scribble a couple of lines.

This evening I will go to the Pollaks after H.; admittedly Artur has not answered my postcard, but I am determined to see what is going on there.

Greetings to you and Fanny

Footnotes

1 Perhaps the Café Reichsrat, at Reichsratstraße 11 (near the Rathaus), although that is some distance from the Hotel and Café Imperial at Kärntner Ring 16 (near the Opera). A Café Rauhenstein is referred to in OJ 8/1, [15], November 5, 1911, but that appears to be in Baden bei Wien rather than Vienna.

2 Trio: evidently a new composition by Violin.
