Sehr geehrter Herr Direktor! 1

Dear Director, 1

Would you be so kind as to send me a copy of the Table ? This is because I have the oldest copy, without Foreword. 2

If I am to make another a few remarks, 3 I need to have the latter.

With many thanks,
Your devoted

Footnotes

1 Writing of this postcard is not recorded in Schenker's diary.

2 Schenker is presumably speaking of the "small edition," released on or before October 29, 1908 (OC 52/398). On November 23, Hertzka had reported that they were proceeding to a "large edition" (OC 52/29), and Schenker is now evidently responding to the meeting that had happened that morning, November 27 (WSLB 26, November 24).

3 What these "remarks" were is unclear. Since the Foreword itself had been corrected in galley-proofs in early October (OC 52/27), it may be that Hertzka had asked Schenker to provide publicity copy for Universal Edition's next catalog. See the footnoted discussion to WSLB 30, December 18, 1908.

4 This annotation, in an unknown hand, is contradicted by the postmark.
