Daughter of Louis Schiff and Hermine (née Hahn), hence a niece of Jeanette Schenker.

The only mention of Trude in the letters of Anna Schiff states that she was “already officially engaged [to be married]” in 1925 (OJ 14/8, [1]). She is referred to in three letters from Rosa and Arnold Weil to Jeanette Schenker: OJ 14/10, [3], November 20, 1932, OJ 14/10, [4], January 9, 1933, and OJ 14/10, [5], April 19, 1933), as being involved in giving assistance to Klara Hatschek over the latter's illness.

Trude married Jindřich (Heinrich) Kost, and the couple had a daughter, Ruth. Trude was deported to Auschwitz, where she died sometime after October 9, 1944; nothing is known of the fate of her husband, but Ruth died in Auschwitz at the same time as her mother.

Trude Schiff is not mentioned in Heinrich’s diary. She is not to be confused with Trude Kaff, Trude Kral (pupils of Henrich), or Trude Kahn.
