Footnotes1 This document is an annotated carbon copy of delivery note OJ 14/21, [1], which accompanied delivery of Vol. 1/8 of Frimmel's Beethoven-Forschung for Schenker's inspection. The annotations were probably made during the visit recorded in Schenker's diary at OJ 3/2, p. 2317 (February 9, 1921): "Nach Tisch zu Deutsch mit unterzeichnetem Vertrag, Korrektur übergeben, Claudius gekauft 156 Kronen." ("After the meal to Deutsch with the contract already signed, handed over corrected proof, purchased Claudius for 156 Kronen.") 2 "Claudius": possibly a collection of poems by or a biography of the German poet Matthias Claudius (1740–1815). |
