Professional body of music teachers in Austria.

The Association was founded in January 1911, and Universal Edition's first in-house periodical, the Musikpädagogische Zeitschrift , was published in conjunction with it. Hans Weisse gave the lecture "What is Counterpoint?" (a typed essay with this title is preserved in the Oster Collection, File 17/3) to the Association in February 1931, shortly before his departure for the USA. Baroness Emma Fischer was secretary to and honorary member of the Association in the 1920s.

A parallel organization existed in Switzerland, the Schweizer Musikpädagogenverband, and perhaps others in other countries.
